Could you be our next Farm Overseer?
The Farm Overseer is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our dryland farming program on our Pegunny Aggregation in Central Queensland. This is an autonomous role liaising and taking direction from the Aggregation Manager. The role presents the opportunity to grow your skills and evolve the farm. The role comes with accommodation and meat supplied.
What can you expect day-to-day?
- Co-ordinating and carrying out all planting and harvesting activities
- Assisting with the development and implementation of converting over to regenerative farming
- Leading our leucaena planting program
- Ensuring all employer assets are held to the highest standard of repairs and maintenance with an emphasis on functionality, presentation and overall safety
- Use of modern farming equipment, including software
- Ordering and procurement of supplies including seed
- Assisting the Station Manager with the planning, completion and reporting of pasture and development programs
- Accurately maintain records relating to staff, machine servicing, purchasing and stores on hand, land, improvements and assets
- Potential opportunity to work with the stock team on occasion
Qualifications:
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- A strong work ethic and flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
- High level of attention to detail and organisational skills
- Extensive knowledge of best farming practices
- Experienced in operating tractors and farming implements
- Livestock handling experience is advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership qualities and skillset
